Fresh on Sunset





Fresh on Sunset with a mission to bring positive energy through healthy sustainable organic food is the perfect setting for a conversation with mental health guru and thought leader Jay Shetty. Vegan restaurateur Ruth Tal and “Top Chef Canada” judge Sherren Arazm opened the first Fresh in Toronto, and have since expanded to six more worldwide locations. Mermaid Inn





A New York City treasure, The Mermaid Inn offers fresh seafood in an elegant yet cozy setting. Dinerscan feast on delicious lobster rolls and oysters, as well as more casual fare such as fish tacos and chowder. Owner Danny Abrams opened the first Mermaid Inn in East Village in 2003, and has since then expanded to locations in the Upper West Side and Chelsea. It is here where we meet Principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre, Misty Copeland. The Gramercy Tavern is just as much a New York City destination as it is a top-tier restaurant. IHOP has for years been synonymous with family breakfasts, late night friendly service, and of course, great pancakes. It also claims the title of “serial entrepreneur” Mark Cuban’s favorite restaurant in Dallas, Texas. OAK in Boulder





An oak fired oven and grill, locally sourced meat and vegetables, and a carefully curated hand-crafted cocktail selection. Chef and owner Steven Redzikowski’s seasonally inspired menus make OAK the perfect place to meet Kimbal Musk, an entrepreneur and philanthropist focused on bringing“real” food to all pockets of this country. Redzikowski’s dream of owning his own restaurant started at the young age of 15, working at a New York City pizzeria. With OAK, he creatively serves up New American cuisine such as red snapper, Hamachi, and unique burgers cooked over their distinctive oak grill. In this rustically hip Boulder setting over a meal of classic roasted chicken,Kimball shares the true ingredients for his career as a restaurateur and philanthropist, and his vision for creating a better world through food.



Café No Se





The all-day café located in Austin’s South Congress Hotel offers an array of brunch, lunch, and dinner food in a chic, sun-soaked setting. Executive chef Kendal Duque is well known for his culinary prowess in Chicago, Paris, and New York, and brings his passion for seasonal, elegant dishes to Café No Se. From ricotta pancakes to salmon burgers, the menu offers fresh and creative plates, all washed down with the restaurant’s acclaimed cocktails. Rachel Hollis, the epitome of a self-made female company founder, chooses the Café as her favorite restaurant to share both a meal and her funny and inspiring journey of “creating something out of nothing.”



La Palma





Located in Stockton’s “Miracle Mile,” La Palma serves up delicious Mexican food and house margaritas. Described as “quaint” and “authentic,” the restaurant boasts a robust menu and full-service tequila bar. Stockton mayor Michael Tubbs selects this family operated restaurant to share his experience becoming mayor despite growing up in poverty. Over a meal of grilled fish tacos, Michael explains how youth and optimism are truly superpowers, and how they have helped bring him to where he is today.



Republique





Located in the heart of Los Angeles, in a historical building formerly owned by silent film star Charlie Chaplin, is French restaurant Republique. Owned and operated by husband-and-wife chefs Walter and Margarita Manzke, this dynamic couple draws on their respective fine dining backgrounds to create the unique French inspired menu. With the formal dining room located in the back, the front of the establishments boasts a casual bar and bistro, where Margarita’s award-winning pastries take center stage. Phil Rosenthal chooses his favorite restaurant in LA to discuss both his remarkably successful Hollywood career in television, and what he hope’s people take away from his newest creative endeavor, Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix.



Javier’s





Javier’s is not your typical Mexican restaurant. The hand-shaken margaritas, al fresco patios, and elevated menu is a fresh take on authentic Mexican cuisine. First opened in Laguna Beach in 1995, Javier’s has expanded to multiple locations in Southern California and Mexico as diners clamor for more of the flavorful and seasonal dishes from chef Abraham Tamez. Payal Kadakia, founder of Classpass, chooses this Century City restaurant to share the many setbacks she faced while starting her now wildly successful company. Surrounded by lush foliage on one of the restaurant’s many patios, we feast on Payal’s favorite cheese and chicken enchiladas while she discusses her hopeful vision for the future post-pandemic.
